Hi! I'm Laura.

I'm a proud Marine wife and mother to Harper the Brave, 3, and Sweet Violet, 1. For nearly 10 years I worked as a journalist. I won awards as a news reporter and as a columnist, but nothing really prepared me for motherhood. Let's just say the learning curve was steep.

I'd like to think my wins outnumber the mess ups, but that might be wishful thinking.  I like dancing, laughing and finding ways to put off cooking dinner. Also I swear. Probably more than I should but not enough to start a swear jar yet.

If you're looking for a blog that gives great parenting advice, you are in the wrong place. Go ahead and delete the web address and maybe even your search history so this blog doesn't come up again by accident. But if you're looking for a fellow mom who can share a laugh and a story, search no further.

I am by no means an expert cook or DIYer, but if I find something that my family likes I'll post that here too.
